This lens is intended for use with Minolta G lenses only. It is not intended for use with the Minolta 80-200/2.8 or any third party lenses.

The Sony 2x is a great way to get that extra focal length without the bulk and weight of larger lenses. Autofocus speed will be reduced slightly and may not work with all lenses depending on the maximum aperture of the lens. Image quality is somewhat reduced, but still very good on Minolta G lenses. This converter is perfectly suited to the 70-200/2.8 SSM, 200/2.8 HS G, 300/2.8 HS G, or 400/4.5 HS G
