Alpha Lens Rental - Lens and Accessory Rental Agreement
By clicking on the order button from AlphaLensRental.com or completing payment over the phone, you understand and agree to enter into the following lease agreement with AlphaLensRental.com:
- Availability – Equipment availability is not guaranteed. We try to update our database as orders come in, but it may be possible for a lens to be unavailable even if it shows “in stock”. Please contact us to see if a reservation is available. A deposit may be required to secure the reservation. Reservations are available 90 days in advance.
- Rental period - The rental period begins the day after the first delivery attempt by the shipping carrier. The rental period ends after the agreed upon rental duration. The equipment must be dropped off at the nearest shipping facility during business hours on the last day of the rental period. If the rental period ends on Sunday or Holiday, the equipment must be dropped off the next following business day.
- Shipping – The shipping charges shown on the lens details page is the cost to ship the lens to you and for a return shipment label. A blank return shipping label will be included in your package. Two days before you are scheduled to return the lens, a label will be sent to you and you can print this onto the provided label for return shipment. If you do not receive a label for any reason, please contact us by phone immediately so that we can remedy the situation. All shipments are insured for a minimum of the deposit value, and will require a signature. Please use an address that will have someone available to sign for the package.
- Late fees – If the equipment is not delivered for return shipment on time, a fee equivalent to 1/3rd of the 1 week rental price or $40, whichever is greater, will be charged for each day the package is delayed. If you wish to extend your rental period, please contact us immediately. Rental period extensions will be granted any time the lens is not needed back immediately for another rental.
- Ownership – All rented equipment remains the sole property of AlphaLensRental.com. The renter has no rights or claims to the equipment under any circumstance.
- Liability – AlphaLensRental.com will not be held responsible for the failure or malfunction of any equipment during its use. If you believe the equipment has failed, please notify us immediately so we can help to remedy the situation.
- Damages and Loss – Damage or loss of the equipment during the rental period is entirely the renter’s responsibility. Equipment is inspected and tested before being shipped to the renter. If the package arrives to you damaged, please inspect the equipment and contact us immediately. If the equipment is damaged, we will help in filing a claim with the shipping company. If we are not notified within 6 hours of delivery, both parties agree that the equipment was delivered in satisfactory condition. If loss or damage occurs during the rental period, please notify AlphaLensRental immediately.
- In the event of loss of the equipment, customer agrees to pay the actual replacement cost of the equipment to AlphaLensRental.com. This may differ from the deposit amount.
- In the event of damage to the equipment, customer agrees to pay actual repair costs at the factory preferred repair center.
- If the equipment fails during the rental period, and the renter does not feel they are responsible, the Sony recommended repair center will provide a report of the failure. This report will be considered final in the determination of the cause of failure.
- It is AlphaLensRental’s suggestion that renters obtain adequate insurance on the item(s) for the duration of the rental period. Please contact your insurance agent for details.
- We reserve the right to inspect the equipment for 48 hours after it arrives back to us for any damage and proper function. If any damage is found during this inspection period, we will notify you immediately. After the inspection period is complete, or the deposit is refunded, you will not be held responsible for any damage.
- Refund/Cancellation - Cancellations will be accepted without penalty up to 48 hours prior to scheduled ship date. After payment has been made on a reservation or rental, a minimum cancelation charge of $10 will be held. If a shipment has already been made to your address, and you wish to cancel a reservation for any reason, a minimum cancelation charge of 1 weeks rental for all items shipped as well as the full shipping amount will be held.
- Privacy - Alpha Lens Rental takes privacy very seriously. We do not, and will not ever share your personal information including email address with anyone for any reason without your prior written consent. We will use your personal information for any and all business related activities which may include verifying your identity for our security purposes. If required (ie, you steal our equipment), your personal information will be shared with local authorities as we see fit. Any personal information transferred to us via phone or email is stored securely. We do NOT store your personal credit card information at this time - it is destroyed as soon as any required charges have been made.
If the renter fails to meet any obligation under this agreement, AlphaLensRental.com has full rights to withhold or charge the deposit and to pursue any legal remedies.
