About Us:

Alpha Lens Rental is a small business venture that started in the summer of 2007. It sprouted from many discussions with folks who wished there was a way to try out some of the many great lenses available to Sony and Minolta DSLR users. Up until August of 2007, no rental company in the United States was offering alpha mount products. At that time, we opened our doors and started renting out lenses to many greatful customers.

We started out small with a personal collection of fine lenses, a little web site knowledge, and a lot of ambition. It has grown month after month, slowly but surely. We are continually adding lenses as often as possible and now have a considerable collection of nearly all available and popular lenses. In the beginning, our collection was focused on the finest of Minolta and Sony lenses. We have added a wider variety of lenses, but continue to focus on the best lenses available for the alpha system. We will continue to add other fine lenses as they are released and as demand deems necessary.

We are a small business run from our home during the “off” hours of the day. We'd love to be running this as a full time business, but at this time, that is not a reality. If the business and your support keeps growing, it may become a reality in the not too distant future. As of now, Matt works as a Sales Engineer for a medium sized sheet metal manufacturing company. His wife Stephanie, who helps run the rental business, is a Kindergarten teacher.

We have high hopes for this business, and are willing to do anything in our power to help you enjoy success in your photography. Whether you are a working professional who needs to rent a spare body or telephoto lens for an assignment, or you are an enthusiast photographer who would like to try out a macro lens before buying, we can help!
